Sustainability
‘Our purpose is to produce great tasting, nutritious beef using sustainable and ethical production systems.’
We do this by caring for our land and natural resources, the health and welfare of our animals and the people and relationships that are at the heart of our business.Land
Australian Certified Organic since 2007, means our beef is grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilisers, or GMO’s. Australian Certified Organic is one of the most rigorous standards in the world for organic food production. We take the responsibility of environmental stewardship seriously, practicing rotational grazing and investing in property infrastructure to improve grazing management and vegetation cover. Technologies such as remote water monitoring, AgriWebb farm management software and Cibo Labs satellite assisted forage budgeting all provide science-based information to support decision making for improved efficiencies and land condition.
Animals
Our cattle spend their life grazing naturally, free range in the paddock and live a life that’s behaviourally and biologically appropriate for a ruminant animal. For meat to be certified organic, beyond being hormone and chemical free, cattle must be afforded a quality of life outdoors and access to a healthy diet and conditions throughout their entire lives. In addition to organic accreditation we are also GAP (Global Animal Partnerships) certified, an independently audited program, committed to more humane animal welfare and a sustainable environment. We use Low Stress Stock handling techniques and genomics testing to evolve a fully polled herd.
People
We greatly value the people and long-term relationships that make up our business – family, employees, customers, suppliers, community, industry and consumers.
People are the heart of Greenstead Grazing and we love working and collaborating with other people passionate about the beef industry.
